Amateur Chocolatiers

June 20, 2012

I signed up for this event not knowing what I was getting myself into but after today, I'm pretty pleased with myself. Little did I know that I would be spending the day tasting gourmet chocolates whilst professional and educated (unlike us volunteers) chocolatiers used their expertise to grade the chocolates.

We had to constantly remind ourselves that we were there to work and not just eat but I think it was a pretty good payment. One of the chocolatiers was the very funny and charismatic Pierrick Boyer who owns a patisserie in the Melbourne CBD. Unfortunately I didn't write down the names of the both judges but they were all lovely and taught us a lot about chocolate.

(yes, this is all chocolate)
